Sometimes God gives us instructions that appear unconventional (6:1-5).

 

God’s Word often gives us specific but unconventional instructions for how to conquer life.

For Example:

• Many who are first will be last and the last shall be first (Matthew 19:30).
• Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it (Matthew   10:39).
• It is more blessed to give than to receive (Acts 20:35).
• Hosea’s relationship with the adulterous Gomer. (Book of Hosea)

 

How are you and I going to respond in the face of God’s unconventional instructions? 

 

 

God wants us to faithfully execute the unconventional plan (6:6-19) 

 

What was the key to their straightforward obedience? 

 

They were steadfast in faith, fully reliant on God, putting their lives in the hands and the plans of the divine warrior.

 

 

God’s promises are fulfilled when his instructions are followed (6:20-27)

 

When you take God at his word and execute his plan, even though it appears unconventional, God’s power prevails!  His promises are fulfilled!  

 

Today’s Key Takeaway: God’s promises will be fulfilled in our lives when we follow his instructions no matter how unconventional they appear. 

 

When God gets unconventional and you find yourself second guessing God and hesitating to obey...

1. Remember God is with you.
2. Remember his Word is true and reliable and powerful.
3. Step out in faith and follow God’s instructions.
4. Look with expectation for God’s faithful promises to be fulfilled.
