CODE AMBER ALERT is now visible on the COTF Web site. What is Code Amber? It is a program developed so that folks could post Amber Alerts right on their Web sites for all to see. For those not familiar with Amber Alert it is an early warning system to help find abducted children. The Code Amber Alert system is a ticker that runs on www.cotf.org at the top of the page. Check it out, you never know, you could help save a child’s life.

DID YOU KNOW? You can help bless the church by collecting the stamps from your local Family Christian Store and turning them into the church! COTF receives a $5 discount for EACH BOOK we turn in! Save those books and then turn them into the church Receptionist at Administrative Offices. If you have any children attending one of our school programs you can also drop them into the in-basket located on the window-sill of the Preschool office in the FLC.

THE DOOR IS OPEN….for Bible Clubs in the Public Schools
Church of the Foothills is sponsoring a new missions outreach called After-School Good News Club©, a ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship®. Did you know that the U.S. Supreme Court ruled in 2001 in Good News Club versus Milford Central School that Good News Clubs can meet in Public Schools after school hours on the same terms as other community groups with signed parental permission? We are planning to start clubs at Blue Oak and Buckeye Schools the week of Oct. 11th.

This year the curriculum will be from Genesis and will include creation, the Patriarchs, and Joseph. We will be holding a special information and training meeting on Saturday, Sept. 18th from 9am-noon at the Church’s Administrative Office conference room (3939 Cambridge Rd, Cameron Park). God can use you to be a helper, teacher, co-teacher or prayer warrior. Did you know…”If a person does not accept Jesus Christ as Savior before the age of 14, the likelihood of ever doing so is slim.” - Barna Research

For more information, contact Dee Michel at 530-677-3057 Ext. 31. Also, you may visit the Child Evangelism Fellowship's Web site at http://www.cefonline.com/.

To avoid scheduling conflicts with other church activities please reserve your meeting and ministry dates on the church calendar by e-mailing Sonya at sonya@cotf.org or calling the church office at 530-677-3057 prior to making your arrangements.

July
25th:
MARRIAGE AMENDMENT UPDATE: Governor Schwarzenegger is conducting a poll about same sex marriages. You can participate by calling his office and "voting". His office phone number is listed below with instructions on which numbers to press to vote. It is important that Christians take a stand on issues that are so blatantly Biblical. The following is an excerpt from the Campaign for California Families newsletter...
Action: California's governor is wetting his finger and holding it up in the air. The governor who would not take a position on AB 1967, the homosexual "marriage" bill defeated earlier this year, has now set up a poll to ask "if you support same-sex marriage, press one," and "if you oppose, press two." Please take action and call the 24/7 recording to help Governor Schwarzenegger care more - much more - about God's sacred institution of marriage. Homosexual activists are calling right now and pushing the "support" button. You and your friends should do the opposite - call and press the "oppose" button! Hopefully Arnold will receive so many calls, he'll take his finger out of the air, and instead, raise his hand and solemnly pledge to veto homosexual "marriage" should it ever land on his desk.
Act Now: To register your opposition to "same-sex marriage," call Governor Schwarzenegger's office at 916-445-2841, press 5 (for voice opinion about a hot topic), then 1 (for same sex marriages), then 2 (for disagree).

Birth of Dylan Robert and Triston Alan Staggers
Grandchildren of Tom & Sue McGlaughlin

A note from Tom & Sue:

View the very special pictures of our grandsons.

First three picture starting on top and on the left, Dylan Robert, born 05/05/04, 6 lbs 12 oz., 19 1/4" 2:14 pm. Dylan has nothing on his head. Next three is Triston Alan, born 05/05/04, 6 lbs, 6 oz., 19 3/4" 5:38 am. Triston has a beanie on his head. The boys are beautiful and the moms are getting along well too. I was blessed to watch Dylan be born. Everyone missed Triston being born, he was too fast. Enjoy the pictures - I have to go right now. I think I better write everything down that happened in the last 48 hours. It has been an incredible ride - God is good! Tom and I are so excited to have two grandsons in one day! Talk about blessings! I gotta go now - being called to the dining room. We have been busy. Love to all, thank you for your prayers. ~ Tom and Sue McGlaughlin
